Founded in 1948 in Veranópolis, located in Brazil’s Rio Grande do Sul, UnionDistillery was an early pioneer of winemaking in the region. In 1972, thedistillery began producing malt whisky and canned beverages, gradually shiftingits focus to whisky production throughout the 1980s.
Over the past four decades, Union Distillery has continuously refined itswhisky-making expertise, even providing technical consultancy to otherdistilleries. Dedicated to advancing quality standards for Brazilian whisky,the distillery achieved HACCP/GMP certification in 2008 and received the RSQuality Award in 2009.
To meet the demands of its growing market, Union Distillery expanded andmodernized its operations, establishing a new facility in Bento Gonçalves, Valedos Vinhedos, in 2015. Since 2021, WHISKYIB.COM has been responsible forimporting Union Distillery’s whiskies into Asia, exclusively bottlingcask-strength releases for the region. The partnership also includes aninnovative project to further mature selected casks in Hsinchu, Taiwan, markinga new milestone in cross-border whisky ageing.
