About Valdespino
Valdespino was officially established in 1875, though its winemaking history dates back over 700 years. The winery takes its name from a heroic knight, Don Alfonso Valdespino. In the early 13th century, after helping King Alfonso X successfully defeat the Moors, he was rewarded by the King with prime vineyards located just outside the city. Furthermore, records show that Valdespino was already commercializing Sherry as early as 1430. Today, it stands as a historic and traditional Sherry house deeply dedicated to its unique terroir and culture.
